05/24/2010: White Mountain Publishing/White Mountain Independent

Independent ad staff 'four-peats'
For the fourth year in a row, The White Mountain Independent was awarded 1st place in Advertising General Excellence at this weekend's Arizona Newspaper Association meeting.
The meeting was held at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications in downtown Phoenix.
Independent Publisher Greg Tock and Advertising Director Wiley Acheson say that their dedicated staffers make it easier for them to keep winning this award.
They also say that being part of the Kramer newspaper group headquartered in Casa Grande doesn't hurt anything, either. Kramer newspapers took first place in each division they were entered, including non-dailies with circulation under 3,500, the Maricopa Monitor; Non-dailies from 3,500 - 10,000, The Independent; and Dailies under 25,000, the Casa Grande Dispatch.
"I couldn't be prouder of the advertising sales department and our graphic designers. To win General Excellence one time is an amazing achievement, but to win it four years in a row is beyond words," Publisher Greg Tock said. "It should give our advertisers confidence knowing The Independent is recognized year in year out for the quality of the ads they create."
The Independent's Joe Garguilo and Tauni Newman were cited for four awards, including 2nd place, Best Black and White Advertisement; 1st place, Best Color Ad; 1st place, Best Paid Ad Series (color), and 1st Place, Most Effective Use Of Small Space. Debbie Herbein and Shannon Clark were awarded Best Paid Ad Series (black and white).
Lia Angelus won Best Online Ad (Static), and teamed with Garguilo for Best Online Ad (dynamic).
George Nunn, Sally Moreno Jackie Hostler and Jenna Troutt teamed up for Best Classified Promotion, and Tock teamed with Terri Madrid for 1st place, Best "Pro-Bono" Public Service Ad.
The Independent took third for best classified section.
04/07/2010: Dorothy's Flower Shop & Fine Arts

The flower shop opened in 1990. Teresa Keele started working at the flower shop 3 months after they opened, and went on to buy the flower shop in 1995. In 2007, Teresa left the flower shop for a short time, before she came back in 2009.
Teresa missed the flower shop atmosphere, and all her special customers. Once you work with flowers for as long as Teresa has, it is hard to get it out of your mind and soul. She has come to the conclusion that she is finally home once again.
Teresa has spent the last 3 years taking Art Classes at N.P.C., and has met many talented Art and Fine Art artists, Her and her friends expanded the flower shop to include an Art Gallery. She welcomes all local Artists to come and display there own art work in Dorothy's Flowers and fine Arts.
A special "Thank you" goes to Dorothy's Flowers for donating live plants to the Chamber, which are given to new Chamber members. Each new member who has joined since January (35 and counting!) is visited by Membership Director Marcia King and a representative from the Chamber Ambassadors group. Dorothy's Flowers makes this visit a little more special through their generous contribution.

12/28/2009: Tate's Nissan Buick GMC

Talking about food and dollars is one thing, but talking about people really shows the impact of Tate's efforts. The work they did leading up to the Christmas holiday resulted in 50,322 people having a meal! If you have ever been hungry (and we all have), you know that the hunger pangs interfere with concentration and activities of daily living.
This is especially true for children trying to learn in school. Their minds are distracted by empty stomachs and the distraction prohibits learning, compounding the problem. Tate's relieved that hunger for more than 50,000 people.
We thank Steve Arey and the folks at the Tate Dealerships for the effort, passion and creativity they put into this food drive. The Chamber joins the United Food Bank and the 50,322 people who will be fed in Navajo County, to say a BIG thank you to Tate's!
11/30/2009: American Family Insurance

JD Power and Associate's awards are based solely on responses from our clients.
The service excellence distinction was determined through a two-part evaluation process consisting of a customer satisfaction survey and an extensive on-site agency audit.
Agents must receive customer satisfaction scores in the top 20 percent of all agencies nationwide on the survey and then you qualify for the on-site evaluation.
We are extremely proud that our clients have given us high scores two years in a row. We have always been a customer service-driven agency and our hard work and dedication to our clients shows.
Thank you for the opportunity to take care of your insurance needs.
